How to Remove Odor From Furniture

Furniture can gather unpleasant smells through time, like cigarette smoke or body odor. Since most furniture pieces don't have machine washable covers on them and the cushions are permanent, ridding the furniture of odor can be a tricky task. Luckily, removing odors is actually quite simple with the right techniques. White distilled vinegar is an amazing product with natural cleaning and odor fighting capabilities.

Instructions

    • 1

Fill an empty plastic spray bottle with two parts vinegar and one part water. Shake well.

    • 2

Spray the piece of furniture from top to bottom, making sure that enough mixture is applied to soak through the fabric and into the first few layers of padding or cotton stuffing.

    • 3

Open all the windows in the room to circulate the furniture with fresh air. The vinegar clings to odors before it evaporates into the air. The vinegar smell fades shortly after.
