How to Clean a Garmetech Mattress Pad

Garme USA, the European parent company of Joya Sleep Systems in the United States, offers a collection of mattresses and mattress pads. Garme's removable mattress pads feature hypoallergenic, chlorofluorocarbon-free memory foam construction, a technology the company dubs "Garmetech." Garmetech memory foam, which allows the pads to contour to the user's body shape, requires some special maintenance. Consult your mattress pad's tag before carrying out any cleaning procedures.

Sprinkle a fine coating of baking soda over the surface of the Garmetech mattress pad. If baking soda isn't available, you can substitute Borax.

    • 2

Allow the baking soda to sit for at least 45 minutes.

    • 3

Vacuum the soda off the mattress, using a hand-held vacuum cleaner or vacuum cleaner with a brush or nozzle attachment.

    Spot Removal

    • 4

Wet a clean washcloth with warm water and a dab of gentle, bleach-free dish soap.

    • 5

Rub any stains or spots in a circular motion.

    • 6

Blot the stains or spots dry with a clean, dry towel.

    • 7

Repeat the process for stubborn stains.

    • 8

Air-dry your Garmetech memory foam mattress by hanging it outside.

    Deep Cleaning

    • 9

Add 1 tbsp. of vinegar and 1 tbsp. of lemon juice to your steam cleaner's water supply.

    • 10

Place the Garmetech memory foam mattress pad in a well-ventilated area or clean outdoor surface. Prop the pad up or lie it flat.

    • 11

Slowly run the nozzle of the steam cleaner across the surface of the pad, starting at the top and going down to the bottom. Repeat this motion to clean the entire surface of the pad.

      Air-dry the mattress pad outdoors.
