How to Keep Feather Cushions From Wrinkling

Feather cushions give your sofas and chairs a downy softness. Although comfortable, they are also prone to forming lumps and wrinkles. The more heavily you use them, the more these irregularities will form. Short of never sitting on a feather cushion, there is no way to prevent them from wrinkling. You can easily fluff the wrinkles away, however. This procedure not only improves the appearance of your cushion but it also prevents uncomfortable lumps from forming.

Instructions

    • 1

Remove the cushion from its sofa or chair. Some can simply be pulled away, while others require you to first unfasten a latch.

    • 2

Fluff the cushion by grabbing it at opposite ends and gently compressing. Rotate it and compress again. Do this repeatedly until the feathers are evenly distributed throughout the cushion.

    • 3

Replace the cushion. If it has a latch, snap it back into place.
