Removing Hair Spray From a Cloth Recliner

When hair spray comes in contact with the fabric of a cloth recliner, it can quickly cause the upholstery fibers to harden. Normal upholstery cleaners do little if anything to remove hair spray. Use dry cleaning solvent, which you can find in the laundry aisle of a department or grocery store, to remove it as soon as possible. The longer the hair spray stays on the cloth recliner, the harder the task will be. After you have removed the stain, blot the affected area with soapy water to remove any residue and minimize damage to the upholstery.
