How to Clean Wine Bottles for Reuse

Supplies:

- Bottle brush with a long handle

- Dish soap

- Bottle tree

- Funnel

Instructions:

1. Rinse the bottle with warm, soapy water immediately after emptying it to remove any leftover wine. Fill the bottle about halfway with water and add a small amount of dish soap.

2. Seal the bottle opening with your hand or a cork and shake vigorously for 15-30 seconds to release any remaining residue.

3. Hold the bottle upside down and allow it to drain. Let the soapy water run out of the bottle slowly without rinsing. This helps to remove any stubborn particles that may be clinging to the bottom or sides of the bottle.

4. Rinse the bottle with warm water and check to ensure it is clean and free of soap residue.

5. Allow the bottle to completely dry before storing it on a bottle tree or other storage solution. You may also hang the bottle upside down from a sturdy hook to ensure all excess moisture drips out and evaporates.

6. To reuse the bottle for wine or other beverages, use a funnel to pour the liquid in and avoid spilling.

*Tips:*

- For hard-to-remove stains or residue, add baking soda to the warm, soapy water and let it soak for several hours before shaking and rinsing.

- If you do not have a bottle tree, you can place the bottles upside down on a paper towel-lined surface to drain and dry.

- It is recommended to clean and dry wine bottles after each use to prevent the buildup of bacteria or residue that can affect the taste of your wine or other beverages.

- Before storing wine bottles, ensure they are completely dry and airtight to avoid contamination.
