Place the safe on the floor where you intend to mount it. Put it in a discreet location, such as a closet, to keep it hidden from visitors or intruders.
Open the door to the safe and locate the mounting hole, or holes. If you have a fireproof safe, the hole will likely be in the center. For a non-fireproof safe, there should be mounting holes in each corner.
Dot the floor with a black marker where the mounting hole is located.
Remove the safe from the installation area. For carpeted floors, cut a portion of the carpet slightly larger than a quarter where the hole will be.
Match the bolt that comes with the safe to a drill bit that is the correct size. If you are drilling into a concrete foundation, you will need to use a concrete drill bit. You can take the bolt to a hardware store to match the bit if you do not have one that fits.
Drill the hole where you made the mark. Vacuum any dust that may have accumulated in the hole.
Position the safe over the hole and line it up.
Push the bolt through the safe into the hole. It is an anchor-style bolt, so you may need to use a hammer to tap it into the floor.
Tighten the nut on top of the bolt.
