How to Parallel a Fence with a DW744

The DeWalt Model DW744 table saw has a telescoping fence or ripping rail that enables you to safely rip boards up to 24 1/2 inches long. The fence is designed with a rack and pin mechanism so you can adjust it quickly, accurately and smoothly.

      Pull the lock lever up to unlock the rip rail or fence. The lock lever is on the side of the saw below the end of the fence.

      Loosen the two hex bolts beside the pinion bearing. The pinion bearing has spokes but no rim.

      Change the angle of the fence using the fine adjustment knob in the same location. Make fence parallel to the blade.

      Push the lock lever down to lock the fence. Check the fence to ensure that it is parallel to the blade.

      Tighten the hex bolts.
