How to Waterproof Boots

### How to Waterproof Boots

1. Gather your materials. You will need:

* Waterproofing spray

* Rags

* A clean, dry pair of boots

2. Clean the boots. Make sure the boots are free of dirt and debris. If they are dirty, wash them with a mild detergent and water and allow them to dry completely.

3. Apply the waterproofing spray. Hold the can of spray about 8-10 inches from the boots and spray evenly. Be sure to cover all surfaces of the boots, including the seams and the laces.

4. Allow the boots to dry completely. Allow the boots to dry for at least 24 hours before wearing them.

5. Reapply the waterproofing spray as needed. The waterproofing spray will need to be reapplied periodically, especially after exposure to heavy rain or snow.

Tips for Waterproofing Boots

* Use a high-quality waterproofing spray that is specifically designed for boots.

* Apply the waterproofing spray in a well-ventilated area.

* Avoid spraying the waterproofing spray near an open flame or heat source.

* If you are waterproofing suede or nubuck boots, test the waterproofing spray on a small, inconspicuous area before applying it to the entire boot.

* Allow the boots to dry completely before wearing them.
