How to Fix Eljer Shower Faucets

Eljer shower faucets are known for their durability and reliability, but even the best faucets can develop problems over time. If you are experiencing issues with your Eljer shower faucet, such as leaks, drips, or difficulty turning the handle, there are a few simple steps you can take to try to fix the problem yourself.

Troubleshooting:

1. Check the water supply. Make sure that the water supply valves to the shower are turned on and that there is sufficient water pressure. If the water pressure is low, it can cause the faucet to not work properly.

2. Clean the faucet aerator. The aerator is a small screen located at the tip of the faucet spout. If the aerator is clogged with debris, it can restrict the flow of water and cause the faucet to drip or spray. To clean the aerator, simply unscrew it from the faucet and rinse it under running water.

3. Replace the faucet cartridge. The faucet cartridge is a cylindrical-shaped component located inside the faucet handle. If the cartridge is worn or damaged, it can cause leaks or difficulty turning the handle. To replace the cartridge, first turn off the water supply valves to the shower and then remove the faucet handle. Once the handle is removed, you will be able to access the cartridge. Remove the old cartridge and install the new cartridge, making sure to follow the manufacturer's instructions.

4. Check the O-rings. O-rings are small rubber gaskets that create a seal between different components of the faucet. If the O-rings are worn or damaged, they can cause leaks. To check the O-rings, simply inspect them for any signs of wear or damage. If the O-rings are damaged, you will need to replace them.

5. Contact Eljer customer service. If you are unable to fix the problem yourself, you may need to contact Eljer customer service. They can provide you with further assistance and, if necessary, send a qualified repair technician to your home.

Here are some additional tips for maintaining your Eljer shower faucet:

- Regularly clean the faucet aerator and O-rings to prevent clogs and leaks.

- Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners to clean the faucet.

- If you notice any leaks or drips, fix them as soon as possible to prevent further damage.

- With proper maintenance, your Eljer shower faucet should provide you with years of trouble-free use.
