- Plumber's putty

Step 1: Remove the old drain
1. Turn off the water supply to the shower.
2. Place a bucket under the drain to catch any water that may leak out.
3. Use the adjustable wrench to loosen the drain flange (the metal ring that holds the drain in place).
4. Once the drain flange is loosened, use your hands to remove it.
5. Remove any old plumber's putty from the bottom of the drain flange and the drainpipe.
Step 2: Prepare the new drain
1. Apply a thin bead of plumber's putty to the bottom of the new drain flange.
2. Set the new drain flange into place and press down firmly.
3. Use the adjustable wrench to tighten the drain flange until it is snug.
4. Remove any excess plumber's putty from around the drain flange.
5. Cut the drainpipe to the desired length using the utility knife.
Step 3: Install the drainpipe
1. Apply a thin bead of plumber's putty to the end of the drainpipe.
2. Insert the drainpipe into the drain flange and press down firmly.
3. Use the channel locks to tighten the drainpipe until it is snug.
Step 4: Test the drain
Turn the water supply to the shower back on.
Check the drain for any leaks.
Make sure the drain is draining properly.
