How to Glue a CPVC Pipe

## Tools and Materials:

* PVC glue

* PVC primer

* Clean rag or paper towel

* CPVC pipe

* CPVC fitting

Instructions:

1. Cut the CPVC pipe to the desired length. Use a saw or pipe cutter to make a clean, square cut.

2. Deburr the edges of the pipe and fitting. Use a file or sandpaper to remove any sharp edges that could prevent a good seal.

3. Apply PVC primer to the inside of the fitting and the outside of the pipe. Use a clean rag or paper towel to apply the primer. Be sure to cover the entire surface area.

4. Let the primer dry for 10-15 minutes. This will allow the primer to evaporate and create a tacky surface.

5. Apply PVC glue to the inside of the fitting and the outside of the pipe. Use a clean rag or paper towel to apply the glue. Be sure to cover the entire surface area.

6. Insert the pipe into the fitting and twist it to ensure that it is fully seated. Hold the joint together for a few seconds to allow the glue to set.

7. Wipe off any excess glue with a clean rag or paper towel.

8. Allow the joint to dry for at least 24 hours before putting it under pressure. This will allow the glue to fully cure and create a strong bond.

Tips:

* Be sure to use PVC glue that is specifically designed for CPVC pipe and fittings.

* Do not use too much glue, as this can weaken the joint.

* If you get glue on your skin, wash it off immediately with soap and water.

* CPVC glue can be harmful if swallowed, so be sure to keep it out of reach of children.
