-Metal objects
-Heat resistant paint in the desired color
-Primer for bare metal
-Sandpaper
-Disposable gloves
-Painter’s tape or masking tape
-Drop cloths
-Paintbrushes or spray paint can (optional)
Prepare Metal
1. Clean the metal object with a mild detergent to remove dirt, grease and/or rust.
2. Sand down metal lightly with fine grit sandpaper to rough up the surface.
Apply Primer
1. Apply a primer specifically formulated for bare metal. You may need multiple coats. Allow primer to dry according to directions on the can.
Apply Paint
1. Apply the first coat of heat-resistant paint. You can use a paintbrush or spray paint.
2. Repeat the process of sanding, priming and painting until the metal object has an even, smooth coat.
Bake the Object
1. Put the metal objects into a preheated oven. Follow the manufacturer's instructions for the best baking temperature and duration.
2. Once baked, remove the metal objects from the oven and let them cool completely.
3. The heat-resistant paint will be fully cured and ready to use.
