1.) Determine the size and location of the turn down slab. The slab should be at least 24 inches wide and 36 inches long. It should also be located at least 6 inches from the foundation of the house.
2.) Cut the 2x4s and 2x6s to size. You will need:
* (4) 2x4s that are 36 inches long
* (2) 2x4s that are 24 inches long
* (2) 2x6s that are 36 inches long
3.) Assemble the frame of the turn down slab. Nail the 2x4s and 2x6s together to form a rectangular frame.
4.) Place the frame of the turn down slab in the desired location. Make sure that it is level and that it is at least 6 inches from the foundation of the house.
5.) Mix the concrete according to the manufacturer's instructions.
6.) Pour the concrete into the frame of the turn down slab. Use a trowel to spread the concrete evenly and to smooth out the surface.
7.) Allow the concrete to cure for at least 24 hours before using the turn down slab.
* Use a level to make sure that the turn down slab is level. This is important to prevent water from pooling on the slab and causing damage to the foundation of the house.
* Make sure that the turn down slab is at least 6 inches from the foundation of the house. This will help to prevent water from seeping into the foundation and causing damage.
* Allow the concrete to cure for at least 24 hours before using the turn down slab. This will ensure that the concrete is strong enough to support weight and to resist damage.
