Tools and Materials:
- Replacement cartridge (model RP46353, RP46074, or RP46354)
- Adjustable wrench
- Phillips screwdriver
- Flat-head screwdriver
- Paper towel
- Pliers
- Hex key
Instructions:
1. Turn off the Water Supply:
- Locate the water supply valves under the sink and turn them clockwise to shut off the hot and cold water supply to the faucet.
2. Remove the Handle Assembly:
- Use a Phillips screwdriver to remove the two screws securing the handle to the faucet body.
- Pull the handle straight up to remove it from the stem.
3. Remove the Trim Cover:
- Locate the trim cover behind the handle.
- Use a flat-head screwdriver to gently pry it off.
4. Remove the Old Cartridge:
- Use an adjustable wrench to loosen and remove the retaining nut that holds the cartridge in place.
- Pull the old cartridge straight up out of the faucet body.
5. Inspect the Seat:
- Check the seat inside the faucet body where the old cartridge was installed.
- If it is damaged or worn, you may need to replace it with a new seat (Delta model RP51914 or RP49994).
6. Install the New Cartridge:
- Insert the new cartridge into the faucet body and align it properly.
- Tighten the retaining nut with an adjustable wrench until it is snug.
7. Reinstall the Trim Cover:
- Place the trim cover back onto the faucet body.
- Make sure it is aligned correctly and press it firmly into place.
8. Reinstall the Handle Assembly:
- Slide the handle back onto the stem and align the screw holes.
- Use a screwdriver to secure it with the two screws you removed earlier.
9. Turn on the Water Supply:
- Go under the sink and turn on the water supply valves to restore water flow to the faucet.
10. Test the Faucet:
- Turn on the faucet and check for any leaks.
- If there are no leaks, your faucet should be repaired and working properly.
