How to Take a Hoover FloorMate Apart

## Disassembling a Hoover FloorMate Carpet Cleaner:

1. Unplug the Machine:

Disconnect the FloorMate from the power outlet before starting the disassembly process.

2. Empty the Clean and Dirty Tanks:

Remove the clean and dirty water tanks, empty their contents, and thoroughly rinse them to eliminate any remaining liquids.

3. Remove the Bottom Plate:

a. Turn the FloorMate upside down. Locate the screws securing the bottom plate. Depending on the specific model, there might be multiple screws on different sides.

b. Use a suitable screwdriver to loosen and remove all the screws that hold the bottom plate in place.

4. Disconnect Electrical Connectors:

a. Gently pull up the bottom plate to separate it from the main unit. Be careful not to damage any wires or connectors attached to the plate.

b. Inside, identify any electrical connectors (usually small clips or plugs) attached to the motor or other components. Disconnect these connectors by squeezing the clips or simply unplugging them.

5. Access Belt:

Once the bottom plate is removed, you should see the drive belt of the FloorMate exposed. The belt connects the motor to the brushes or rollers responsible for cleaning your carpets.

6. Remove Roller/Brush:

Depending on your model, the brush or roller might vary:

Brush Roll:

a. There might be small clips or screws holding the brush roll in place. Locate and remove them carefully.

b. Once the brush assembly is accessible, you can pull or lift it. Disconnect it from the machine by detaching any plugs or connectors associated with the rotating parts.

Roller Brush:

a. Similar to the brush roll, remove securing clips or screws. Be patient, as brushes could stick and require gentle wiggling to come off.

b. Gently pull the roller, disengaging it from the machine by carefully removing attachments like hoses or connectors related to its cleaning elements.

NOTE: The design may slightly vary across FloorMate models, but the removal procedure is generally similar.

Consult your FloorMate's user manual for specific details.
