- Measure the width and height of the garage door.
- Cut the vinyl siding panels to size using a utility knife or a siding saw.
-Make sure to cut the panels at least 1/4 inch longer than the actual measurement to allow for expansion.
2. Install the Starter Strip
- Install a starter strip along the bottom of the garage door opening.
- The starter strip will help to support the vinyl siding panels and keep them in place.
3. Install the J-Channel
- Install J-channel around the perimeter of the garage door opening.
- The J-channel will help to hold the vinyl siding panels in place and provide a finished look.
4. Install the Vinyl Siding Panels
- Beginning at one corner of the garage door opening, insert the first vinyl siding panel into the J-channel.
- Make sure the panel is flush with the starter strip.
- Overlap the next vinyl siding panel by 1/4 inch and insert it into the J-channel.
- Continue installing the vinyl siding panels until you reach the other side of the garage door.
5. Install the Corner Posts
- Install corner posts at each corner of the garage door opening.
- The corner posts will help to hold the vinyl siding panels in place and provide a finished look.
6. Trim the Vinyl Siding Panels
- Trim the top and bottom of the vinyl siding panels so that they are flush with the garage door.
7.Caulk the Joints
- Caulk the joints between the vinyl siding panels and the J-channel.
-This will help to prevent water from seeping behind the vinyl siding.
