- A deck of cards
- A bucket or other container
- A flat surface to play on
- A partner or some friends to play with
1. To start the game, shuffle the deck of cards and deal 7 cards to each player. The remaining cards are placed face down in the center of the playing area to form the draw pile.
2. Each player looks at their cards and chooses one to discard. The discarded cards are placed face up in the center of the playing area to form the discard pile.
3. The player to the left of the dealer goes first. On their turn, they may do one of the following:
- Play one or more cards from their hand into the bucket. To play a card, simply pick it up and throw it toward the bucket. If the card lands in the bucket, it is discarded and the player may draw one card from the draw pile. If the card misses the bucket, it remains in play.
- Draw one card from the draw pile.
- Pass: Skip their turn and don't do anything.
4. When a player gets rid of all of their cards, they win the game!
- Try to get rid of your high cards first. This will make it easier to get rid of your low cards later.
- If you have a lot of low cards, try to play them all at once. This will give you a better chance of getting them all in the bucket.
- If you have a wild card, use it to your advantage! Wild cards can be used to represent any other card. This can be helpful for getting rid of cards that you don't need.
- Be careful not to throw your cards too hard! If you throw your cards too hard, they might bounce out of the bucket and you will have to pick them up and try again.
There are many different variations of Bozo Buckets. Here are a few examples:
- Team Bozo Buckets: This variation is played with teams of 2 or more players. Each team tries to get rid of all their cards before the other teams. The points for winning a round or game are tallied up and the team with the most points at the end of the game wins.
- Double Bozo Buckets: This variation is played with double the number of cards (14 cards per player). The rules are the same as the regular version, but the game is faster and more challenging.
- Crazy Bozo Buckets: This variation is played with a deck of cards that has been modified. Some of the cards have special powers, such as the ability to make your opponent discard cards or draw extra cards. This variation is more chaotic and unpredictable, but it is also a lot of fun!
