How to Remove Paint Roller Marks on the Wall

Method 1: Use Paint Thinner

1. Test the paint thinner on a small patch of the wall. Before applying the paint thinner on the entire area with paint roller marks, test it on a small, inconspicuous spot to ensure that it doesn’t damage the wall. Choose an area that is in a corner or under furniture, so it will be less noticeable if there is any damage.

2. Apply the paint thinner to the roller marks with a small paintbrush or cotton ball. Dab or brush the paint thinner onto the roller marks, making sure to saturate the area. Allow the paint thinner to sit for 5–10 minutes, or according to the instructions on the paint thinner container.

3. Rinse the area with warm water and a sponge. After the paint thinner has had time to work, use a damp sponge to rinse the area. Rinse the sponge frequently in clean water to avoid spreading the paint thinner around.

4. Dry the area with a clean, dry cloth. Once the area is rinsed, dry it thoroughly with a clean, dry cloth. Be sure to dry the area completely to prevent any water damage.

Method 2: Use Rubbing Alcohol

1. Test the rubbing alcohol on a small patch of the wall. Choose a small area that is in a corner or under furniture, so it will be less noticeable if there is any damage.

2. Apply the rubbing alcohol to the roller marks with a small paintbrush or cotton ball. Dab or brush the rubbing alcohol onto the roller marks, making sure to saturate the area. Allow the rubbing alcohol to sit for 5–10 minutes, or according to the instructions on the rubbing alcohol bottle.

3. Rinse the area with warm water and a sponge. After the rubbing alcohol has had time to work, rinse the area with a damp sponge that has been dipped in warm water. Continue to rinse the sponge and the area until the rubbing alcohol has been removed.

4. Dry the area with a clean, dry cloth. Once the area has been rinsed, dry it with a clean, dry cloth. Be sure to dry the area thoroughly to prevent any water damage.

Additional Tips:
