* A kerosene lamp
* A pair of scissors
* A piece of cloth
Step 2: Prepare the lamp.
* Make sure the lamp is turned off.
* Remove the chimney and the burner.
* Place the cloth under the burner to catch any spills.
Step 3: Trim the wick.
* Use the scissors to cut the wick to the desired length. The wick should be about 1/4 inch long.
* Be careful not to cut the wick too short, or it will not be able to draw up the kerosene.
Step 4: Replace the burner and the chimney.
* Replace the burner on the lamp and screw it into place.
* Replace the chimney.
Step 5: Light the lamp.
* Turn the lamp on and light the wick.
* Adjust the flame to the desired size.
Tips:
* Trim the wick regularly to keep the lamp burning properly.
* If the wick is too long, it will smoke and produce a bad smell.
* If the wick is too short, it will not be able to draw up the kerosene and the lamp will not light.
* Be careful not to spill any kerosene when trimming the wick.
