How to Make a Lighting Fixture Out of Mason Jars

### Materials:

- Mason jars

- Edison light bulbs

- Sockets and cord set

- Chain or wire

- Pliers

-Screwdriver

-Drill

- Drill bit

Instructions

1. Gather your materials.

* For each pendant, you will need:

- 1 mason jar

- 1 Edison light bulb

- 1 socket and cord set

- 2 feet of chain or wire

- 1 pair of pliers

- 1 screwdriver

- 1 drill

-1/8-inch drill bit

2. Drill holes in the mason jars.

- Turn the jar upside down and, using a 1/8-inch drill bit, drill a small hole in the bottom.

- Repeat for each jar.

3. Attach the sockets to the mason jars.

- Take one of the sockets and thread the cord through the hole in the bottom of the mason jar.

- From the inside of the jar, pull the cord through until the socket is sitting flush against the bottom of the jar.

- Secure the socket in place by tightening the screws on the side of the socket.

- Repeat for each jar.

4. Screw in the Edison light bulbs.

- Screw in an Edison light bulb into each of the sockets.

5. Attach the chain or wire to the jars.

-Cut a piece of chain or wire to the desired length.

-Loop the chain or wire around the neck of the mason jar and secure it in place with a zip tie or twist tie.

- Repeat for each jar.

6. Hang the pendants from the ceiling

- Choose a location for your pendants and make sure that there is an outlet nearby.

-Use a drill to make holes in the ceiling for the hooks or screws.

- Attach the hooks or screws to the ceiling.

- Hang the pendants from the hooks or screws.

7. Plug in your pendants and turn on the lights.

8. Enjoy your new lighting fixture!
