Brown Vinyl Windows Vs. Brown Wood Windows

Many homeowners who must replace their windows struggle with the type of window to select. Windows are expensive. In addition, windows greatly affect the appearance of a room. The decision to install brown windows in your house can change the appearance of your house permanently or at least as long as it has brown windows.
  1. Materials

    • Vinyl is a synthetic material made from petroleum. Because of its smooth texture, you cannot paint a vinyl window as you would a wooden window. Wood is a natural material made from a renewable resource.

    Color

    • Vinyl comes in different colors including white, cream, black, beige and brown. The color of a vinyl window cannot be changed by ordinary means. You cannot paint a vinyl window as you would a wooden window. In some cases, this makes brown a questionable color choice for a vinyl window because brown is a less flexible color and may clash with room colors. A brown wooden window, on the other hand, can always be painted to match any color in the room.

    Appearance

    • Vinyl has an almost industrial, utilitarian appearance. For a new or modern structure, vinyl can appear tidy and crisp, with solid straight lines. Vinyl is perfectly smooth. Wood has a much warmer appearance. Wood tends to remind people of home, while bringing a sense of craftsmanship to a room. Wood has a natural, grainy texture. Wood is an appropriate material to use in historic homes and structures.

    Color Matching

    • With vinyl windows, you must plan for the future appearance of your home. Consider all the colors that you'll be able to decorate with in order to match with brown. Brown tends to look good with other earthy colors like green, other shades of brown, and blue. For brown wooden windows, this does not matter because you can change the color any time.

    Longevity

    • Wooden windows are made to last, although they do require maintenance. With appropriate care, wooden windows can be around for a hundred years or more. Vinyl windows are a relatively new product, so it is difficult to say how long they last. They are meant to last as long as wooden windows. However, choosing a color like brown for your vinyl window may decrease the lifespan of the windows. If you sell your house to someone who would favor white windows, they might need to be replaced.
