Materials Needed:
- White fabric (such as cotton or muslin)
- Blue fabric (for sash and tricorn hat)
- Gold fabric or ribbon (for epaulettes and hat)

Instructions:
1. Start with the Shirt and Tights:
- Put on a white shirt and white tights or leggings on your child.
2. Create the Sash:
- Cut a strip of blue fabric approximately 10 inches wide and long enough to wrap around your child's waist.
- Sew the edges of the sash together, leaving one side open.
- Slide the sash around your child's waist and tie it into a bow.
3. Make the Epaulettes:
- Cut two small pieces of gold fabric in a triangular shape for the epaulettes.
- Sew the epaulettes to the shoulders of the white shirt.
4. Craft the Triangular Hat:
- Download or create a triangular hat pattern.
- Cut the hat pieces out of blue and black felt.
- Sew the hat pieces together as per the pattern.
- Add a gold ribbon or fabric along the edge of the hat for decoration.
5. Add the Hat Brim and Hair:
- Cut a circular piece of black felt for the hat brim.
- Sew the hat brim to the bottom edge of the triangular hat.
- Cut a piece of black felt in the shape of George Washington's hair.
- Attach the hair piece to the inside of the hat.
6. Completing the Costume:
- Put the triangular hat on your child's head.
- Add the black shoes and white gloves.
7. Optional Touches:
- You can add a toy sword, a powdered wig (if available), and a quill pen to complete the George Washington costume.
