How to Make an Artificial Flower Arrangement in a Wall Sconce

Sconces filled with vibrant artificial flower arrangements make charming wall decor. You can use the arrangement to add a pop of color to any room in your home, from a bedroom to the living room. Faux flower sconce arrangements are convenient in that you never have to change them unless you want to. You can update the bouquets to reflect specific holidays and seasons, such as red flowers for Christmas or orange flowers for autumn.

Instructions

    • 1

Fill 1/4 of the bottom of a cone-shaped vase sconce with floral foam.

    • 2

Gather several realistic-looking silk flowers featuring stems that are one, two, and three inches taller than the sconce for a varied look. Choose faux flowers, such as roses, tulips, calla lilies and daisies, that coordinate with the overall look of the room. Use all one type and color of flower or mix the look up to create visual interest. Use a mix of yellow roses, orange tulips and pink daisies to create a spring-inspired look, for example.

    • 3

Insert the tallest flower stems into the foam inside the sconce first. Arrange the shorter blooms around the center flowers to create a full arrangement. Add stems of artificial greenery, such as ferns, grass, philodendron leaves and eucalyptus to give the arrangement a fresh, vibrant look.

Mount the sconce onto the wall using a hammer and nail. Use two floral-filled sconces to provide a balanced look above couches, tables or beds.
