Vacuum the floor and use a mop to clean up any excess dust from the floor. Lay down the cement backer board if you’re installing the Mission tile on a wood subfloor.
Apply adhesive evenly over the floor or backer board. Use the trowel to draw ridges in the adhesive. Butter the adhesive onto the entire back of each tile. Use the trowel to draw ridges in the back of the tiles.
Press the tiles into the floor with your hands. Space them apart by 1/16 of an inch to 1/8 of an inch. Clean off any adhesive from the surfaces with a damp cloth.
Brush the tile sealer over the Mission tiles with the paintbrush and allow them to dry for two to three days.
Mix the unsanded grout per the manufacturer’s instructions and apply it over the tile with the trowel. Press the grout in between each tile and smooth it out to avoid any pits. Wipe off the excess grout with the damp cloth.
Mop the floor with a neutral detergent and rinse it well. Use the floor machine with a white pad to buff and clean the residue from the tiles. Vacuum up any standing water with the shop vacuum.
