-1 package (10 ounces) pitted dates
-1/2 pound bacon, cut into 1-inch pieces
-1/4 cup brown sugar
-1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
-1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
Instructions:
1.) Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C).
2.) Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
3.) In a large bowl, combine the bacon, brown sugar, Dijon mustard, and pepper. Toss to coat.
4.) Wrap each date with a piece of bacon, securing the bacon with a toothpick.
5.) Place the wrapped dates on the prepared baking sheet.
6.) Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the bacon is crispy and the dates are softened.
7.) Serve immediately.
Tips:
-To make the bacon-wrapped dates ahead of time, cook them according to the instructions and then let them cool completely. Store the wrapped dates in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. To serve, reheat the dates in a preheated oven at 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) for 5-7 minutes.
-If you don't have any toothpicks, you can also secure the bacon with small pieces of kitchen twine.
