- Fabric (2 fat quarters or 1/2 yard of each fabric)
- Fabric Scissors or Rotary Cutter and Cutting Mat
- Sewing Machine
- Thread
- Iron
Step 1: Cut the Fabric
- From each fabric, cut two rectangles that measure 18 inches x 10 inches.
Step 2: Prepare the Fabric
- Press all four fabric pieces.
- Fold one right side out fabric rectangle in half lengthwise. Press the fold.
- Repeat with the other right side out fabric rectangle.
Step 3: Sew the Fabric Pieces
- With one fabric piece inside the other, right sides together, sew the two 18-inch edges together with a 1/2-inch seam allowance.
- Repeat with the other two fabric pieces.
Step 4: Turn the Basket Inside Out
- Carefully turn the basket right side out.
- Use a point turner or other blunt object to help push out the corners.
- Press the basket flat.
Step 5: Hem the Top Edge of the Basket
- Fold the top edge of the basket down 1/4 inch twice, and then press the fold.
- Topstitch around the top of the basket close to the fold to secure the hem in place.
Step 6: Add a Ribbon Pull (Optional)
- Cut a piece of ribbon or cord approximately 20 inches long.
- Fold the ribbon or cord in half and sew it to the inside center of the basket, approximately 1 inch from the top edge.
Step 7: Enjoy Your Reversible Fabric Storage Basket!
- Your reversible fabric storage basket is now ready to use and enjoy.
