How to Remove the JVM1851BH02 Switch Door Sensor

The General Electric JVM1851BH02 is an over-the-range microwave that offers 1,100 watts of cooking power. The JVM1851BH02 has a 14-1/4 inch recessed turntable that rotates your food while it is cooking, as well as sensor cooking that detects when your food is ready to serve. The microwave will not function if the door is in the open position and uses a sensor in the door latch assembly to detect the door's orientation. If the sensor fails, the microwave may incorrectly detect that the door is open when it is, in fact, closed. To restore the microwave to working order, you must remove the door latch assembly for replacement.
