How to Make Acrylic Paperweights

Supplies Needed:

- Clear acrylic resin (such as EnviroTex Lite)

- Hardener

- Mixing container and stir sticks

- Disposable gloves

- Molds (such as silicone ice cube trays or plastic cups)

- Decorative items (such as glitter, beads, shells, or small toys)

- Adhesive vinyl (optional)

- Pliers (optional)

Step 1: Prepare Your Workspace

- Wear gloves to protect your skin from the resin.

- Cover your work surface with newspaper or plastic to protect it from spills.

Step 2: Mix the Resin

- Follow the instructions on the resin package to mix the resin and hardener.

- Stir slowly and carefully to avoid creating bubbles.

Step 3: Add Decorative Items

- Before pouring the resin into the molds, add any desired decorative items.

- You can use glitter, beads, shells, small toys, or anything else that you like.

- If using adhesive vinyl, cut the vinyl into shapes and stick it to the bottom of the molds before adding the resin.

Step 4: Pour the Resin

- Carefully pour the resin into the molds, filling each mold about halfway.

- Make sure to avoid creating bubbles.

Step 5: Demold the Paperweights

- Allow the resin to cure for the recommended time according to the package instructions (typically 24 to 48 hours).

- Once fully cured, remove the paperweights from the molds.

Step 6: Finish the Paperweights

- Trim any excess resin from the edges of the paperweights using pliers or scissors.

- You can also sand the edges to smooth them out.

Step 7: Enjoy Your New Paperweights!

- Your acrylic paperweights are now ready to be enjoyed!

- Use them to hold down papers on your desk, or display them as decorative objects on shelves or windowsills.
