- Rolling pin

- Cookie cutters

- Craft paint

- Ribbon

- Straw with bendy neck

Instructions:

1. Knead the air dry clay until it is smooth and pliable.

2. Roll out the clay to a 1/4 inch thickness.

3. Use the cookie cutters to cut out shapes.

4. Press your child's hand into the clay to create an imprint.

5. Use the straw to make a hole at the top of each ornament for hanging.

6. Let the ornaments dry for 24 hours, or until they are firm to the touch.

7. Paint the ornaments with craft paint.

8. Let the paint dry completely.

9. Thread ribbon through the holes and tie knots to hang the ornaments from.

Tips:

- To prevent sticking make sure to flour your rolling pin and cookie cutters.

- If the clay cracks, you can smooth it out with your fingers or a damp paintbrush.

- Have your child help you paint the ornaments. This is a great way for them to be creative and express themselves.

- You can also add glitter, beads, or other embellishments to the ornaments.

- Hang your child's handmade ornaments on a Christmas tree, or give them as gifts to family and friends.
