How to Sew a Card Holder

## Supplies

- Fabric scraps

- Coordinating thread

- Scissors

- Sewing machine

- Iron

Instructions

Step 1: Cut the Fabric

Start by cutting two pieces of fabric, each measuring 4.5 inches by 6 inches.

Step 2: Sew the Side Seams

With right sides together, sew the two pieces of fabric along one of the 6-inch sides. Backstitch at the beginning and end of the seam to secure it.

Step 3: Trim the Seam

Trim the seam allowance down to ¼ inch.

Step 4: Fold the Fabric

Fold the fabric right sides together along the remaining 6-inch side. The raw edges should be aligned.

Step 5: Sew the Bottom Seam

Sew a seam ¼ inch from the folded edge. Backstitch at the beginning and end of the seam to secure it.

Step 6: Turn the Card Holder Inside Out

Turn the card holder inside out, carefully pushing out the corners.

Step 7: Iron the Card Holder

Press the card holder flat, making sure to press the corners out well.

Step 8: Sew the Top Stitching

Sew a topstitching seam ¼ inch from the top and bottom edges of the card holder. This will help to secure the seams and give the card holder a more polished look.

Your card holder is now finished! Use it to hold your credit cards, business cards, or other small cards.
