Kid's Hot Pink Bedroom Ideas

With a coat of paint and a few strategic accessories, you can transform a dull space into a vibrant retreat your child will love. Decorating your child's room around her favorite color is one way to ensure that she will appreciate the finished result. If your child's favorite color is bright and bold hot pink, consider some of the many ways you can incorporate this hue into the room's color palette.
  1. Uses

    • Incorporate hot pink into any number of areas around the bedroom. The main focal point of any bedroom is the actual bed, so a smart place to start is with the bedding. A hot pink duvet cover or pillow shams will introduce this hue into the color palette. Along with the bedding, consider painting the walls, hanging pink curtains and tying in a variety of different pieces of art and accessories to showcase this vibrant color in your child's bedroom.

    Accent Colors

    • A child's room is a place to choose colors you may not incorporate into the rest of the home. Along with hot pink, pick one or more accent colors to make the space seem unified and well-balanced. A simple shade of white or cream can be a neutral anchor for this bold shade. Or, choose a dark color like black for a color palette reminiscent of a groovy blacklight poster. Incorporate other colors sparingly for graphic addition, such as neon yellow, green or orange.

    Decor Themes

    • Consider introducing a decor theme to unite the space. For example, hot pink is a favorite color for 1980s fashion. The decorating theme can be a throwback, 1980s-inspired space complete with shiny vinyl curtains and a combination of fluorescent shades. Another option for hot pink is a graffiti-themed room. Help the child paint a mural on the wall in different graphic neon shades to complement the hot pink. Alternatively, the decor style does not need to be garish; in fact, it can be the sole loud color in an otherwise reserved black-and-white room for a more modern approach.

    Prints

    • Incorporating hot pink into a child's bedroom does not have to be as basic as using just the color. Instead, use prints to add dimension to the design. Look for hot pink polka dots, stripes, plaids, floral patterns and even hearts and stars on bedding, pillowcases and rugs. This will add interest and texture to the space.
