How to Easily Remove Candle Wax From Clothing

Candle wax can leave messy, greasy stains on your clothing, especially if you've accidentally spilled it. Don't worry -- candle wax can be removed using a few simple household items. Here's how:

1. Scrape off the excess wax: Use a dull knife or a credit card to gently scrape off as much of the excess candle wax as possible from the fabric. Be careful not to damage the fabric.

2. Blot with a clean cloth: Use a clean, white cloth to blot up any remaining wax. Do not rub the wax, as this could spread the stain and make it more difficult to remove.

3. Iron with brown paper: Place a brown paper bag or parchment paper over the wax stain. Make sure the paper is larger than the stain. Set your iron to the highest setting and iron over the paper for 30 seconds to 1 minute. The wax should melt and transfer to the paper. Lift the paper carefully, being cautious not to touch the hot iron.

4. Check the stain: Check to see if the wax stain has been removed. If there are still traces of wax, repeat steps 2 and 3.

5. Apply stain remover: If the stain persists, apply a commercial stain remover to the affected area. Be sure to follow the instructions on the product label.

6. Rinse and wash: Rinse the fabric thoroughly with cold water. Then, wash the clothing in the hottest water recommended on the clothing label.

7. Dry the clothing: Dry the clothing as usual.

By following these steps, you should be able to easily remove candle wax from your clothing. Always test any cleaning solutions on a small, inconspicuous area of the fabric before using them on the entire garment.
