Decoration Ideas for Spring Tables Using Twigs

Whether decorating a spring table for afternoon tea, a large lunch event or a children's party, create a decor scheme inspired by spring weather through assorted twig use. Twigs are a sustainable decor option since you can simply collect fallen branches and twigs from your yard or nearby park to create numerous decorations.
  1. Twig Bouquets

    • Display collected twigs in clear glass vases. Combine twigs with assorted flowers such as roses, daisies, carnations or various wildflowers, or leave twigs as is with a decorative ribbon tied around the vase. Additional ideas include wrapping the twigs in bits of scrap fabric or strips of old wallpaper or using hot glue to secure the fabric or paper to the twigs. Cover them in glitter glue, or use hot glue to cover them in faux jewels, sequins and flat beads.

    Twig Picture Frames

    • Use twig frames as a centerpiece option for your spring table. Construct a frame purely from twigs hot-glued together in a rectangular shape; glue additional twigs to the back of the frame to prop it up. Tape a picture to the back of the frame to finish the project. Another option is to simply glue twigs around the perimeter of a wooden or plastic frame to give it a more rustic feel.

    Twig Art Pieces

    • Make assorted small sculptures and artwork using twigs. Place a twig that features numerous small branches in a small container filled with small pebbles and stones. Hang assorted ornaments on the twig as a centerpiece, such as Christmas ornaments or Halloween decorations. Holiday decorations are not the only items you can hang from twig branches; use earrings or antique necklaces as another artistic centerpiece option. Sculpt "twig people" as another possibility using sandpaper and embellishments such as googly eyes and pieces of scrap fabric for a children's spring table.

    Twig Table and Chair Ideas

    • Use twigs as decor on the table itself. Line the perimeter of a wooden table with flatter pieces of twig, or wrap more bendable pieces of twig around table and chair legs; secure with either tape or hot glue. If the table you are using has a hole in its middle for sun umbrella use, place a large twig in this hole so it looks like it is growing out of the table. Wooden tables with small spaces in between the boards may also be used for sticking twigs in to give the appearance of a rustic, overgrown spring table.
