Space

• The Panasonic NN-P295 is an over-the-range model, so make sure you have room above your stove. The space should be 30 inches wide between two cabinets, and the bottom of the top cabinet must be at least 30 inches from the top of the stove. Once the microwave is installed correctly, the bottom should be at least 13-5/8 inches above the range.

Support

• All necessary mounting hardware is included with the microwave, but you must make sure your wall can support the load. The wall behind the range should be flush and level, with a drywall or plaster/lath thickness of at least 3/8 inch. The mounting bracket must be mounted to at least one 2-by-4 inch stud or larger.

Electrical

• The Panasonic NN-P295 must be grounded for safety, so it comes equipped with a three-prong plug that must be plugged into a 20-amp, 120-volt, 60-Hz grounded outlet. Using a higher-voltage outlet may cause fire, and using a lower-voltage outlet will cause substandard operation. Do not attempt to alter the plug to fit a two-pronged outlet, and make sure the outlet is close to the installation area. Never use an extension cord with a microwave. The microwave should run on its own circuit, and will cook at 1200 watts.

Venting

• The Panasonic NN-P295 comes equipped with an exhaust fan on its bottom surface. The exhaust may be vented directly outside, but if you vent it back into the kitchen, you must install the included charcoal filter. The filter must be replaced periodically, and replacements are available where you purchased your microwave.

Special Features

• The Panasonic NN-P295 offers special features that allow you to customize your user interface. You can control the speed at which words scroll across the display, and you can set the language to English, Spanish or French. You can even turn verbal prompts off completely if you prefer. There is an optional child lock, and weights can be handled as pounds or kilograms. You can even disable the beep that signifies the end of cooking, as well as the reminder beep that sounds every 15 seconds until the food is removed from the oven. There is also a warming feature that will keep food warm for up to 30 minutes after heating.
