"Consumer Reports" notes that countertop models are cheaper than built-in microwaves. They are also among the smallest microwaves made.

It weighs 25 lbs. and is also available in black (model JE740BK). GE's suggested price is $119 for these microwaves, as of December 2010.

    • An oval shape on the front adds a modern feel to this 0.7-cubic-foot cooking appliance. The DMW799BL comes with 10 power levels and an electronic control pad with one-touch settings for foods like frozen dinners and popcorn. It provides 700 watts of cooking power and a turntable. It also offers options for cooking and defrosting by weight. This black microwave measures 17.9 inches wide, 10.3 inches high and 13.2 inches deep. It is also available in white (DMW799W). It sold for around $65 in December 2010.
