Instructions

    • 1

Remove any old fabric and padding, if applicable, from the seat. Use a staple puller to remove staples and tacks from the seat.

    • 2

Cut the new pad to the same size as the seat to be covered. Lay foam on top of the pad and trace an outline, adding 1/4 inch on each side. Spray adhesive on the seat and apply the foam.

    • 3

Cut Dacron to the same measurements as the foam. Dacron is a polyester padding material used in upholstery. Adding Dacron will increase the durability of your upholstery. Place the Dacron segment on top of the foam. Foam thickness will depend on your personal preference.

Set the pad on top of the foam and Dacron. Using the measurements of the seat, add 4 inches to both the length and width. Cut fabric to the new measurements. Center the fabric on top of the pad. Wrap the edges of the fabric around the sides of the pad and foam. Staple the fabric to the bottom of the seat by first placing a staple in the center of one of the sides. Then pull the fabric taut and staple the center of the opposite side. Repeat the procedure for the other two sides of the seat. Once each side has a staple, fold the corners of the fabric in and secure with staples.

Move around the perimeter of the seat bottom, stapling in 2-inch intervals.
