How to Make DIY No Sew Sofa Slip Covers

### No-Sew Sofa Slipcover Tutorial

Materials:

- 1 sheet (twin or full, depending on the size of your sofa)

- Scissors

- Measuring tape

- Fabric marker or pen

- Pins

- Iron

Instructions:

Step 1: Measure your sofa.

For the length: Start at the top of the back of the sofa and measure down to the floor. If your sofa has a skirt, be sure to include the height of the skirt in your measurement.

For the width: Measure across the front of the sofa, from armrest to armrest. If your sofa does not have arms, measure across the widest point.

Step 2: Cut the sheet to size.

For the length: Cut a piece of fabric that is the length of your sofa plus 8 inches.

For the width: Cut two pieces of fabric that are the width of your sofa plus 8 inches.

Step 3: Hem the edges of the fabric.

Fold the edges of the fabric over twice and stitch to hem.

Step 4: Create the sofa skirt.

Take the two pieces of fabric that you cut for the width and sew them together along one of the long edges.

Fold the sewn edge up so that it is hidden and stitch in place.

Step 5: Gather the top of the sofa skirt.

Thread a needle with a piece of yarn and gather the top of the skirt.

Pull the yarn to create gathers and distribute them evenly.

Step 6: Attach the sofa skirt to the back of the sofa.

For a loose fit: Simply drape the skirt over the back of the sofa and secure it in place with pins. If desired, you can also sew the skirt in place.

For a tighter fit: Measure and cut a piece of fabric that is the same length as the back of the sofa and approximately 12 inches wide. Fold the fabric in half lengthwise and sew along the raw edge. Turn the fabric right side out and press. Center the fabric on the back of the sofa and pin in place. Sew the skirt to the sofa, using a 1/4-inch seam allowance.

Step 7: Place the sofa cover over the sofa.

Start at one end of the sofa and work your way across. Tuck the excess fabric into the crevices of the sofa and adjust as needed.

Step 8: Enjoy your new sofa cover!

Tips:

- If you want a более fitted look, you can use a stretch fabric instead of a sheet.

- If you have a particularly large or oddly shaped sofa, you may need to make some additional adjustments to the pattern.

- You can customize your sofa cover by adding trim, appliques, or other embellishments.
