Is Fatsia Japonica Poisonous to Cats?

Fatsia Japonica, commonly known as the false castor oil plant or Japanese aralia, is considered toxic to cats. All parts of the plant, including the leaves, stems, and berries, contain saponins, which can cause gastrointestinal upset, vomiting, and diarrhea. In severe cases, it can lead to nervous system depression and even death. If you have cats or suspect they have ingested any part of the Fatsia Japonica plant, it is advisable to seek veterinary attention immediately.
