The S.I. belt meter is a combine meter manufactured by the Ohio-based company S.I. Distributing Incorporated. Combines are large pieces of farm equipment that cuts large grains and then uses a threshing drum to separate grain from chaff. The grains is then sucked into a container for storage. The belt meter is used when the combine is in planting mode, to separate different grains and to make even rows. Combines come equipped with belt meters, but some farmers prefer to use after-market belt meters for precision planting.
