How to Make Christmas Ornaments From Magnolia Seed Pods

Making Christmas ornaments from magnolia seed pods is a fun and easy way to add a natural and festive touch to your holiday decor. Here are the steps on how to make them:

Materials:

- Magnolia seed pods

- Wire cutters

- Floral wire

- Ribbon

- Beads or other decorations (optional)

Instructions:

Step 1: Gather Magnolia Seed Pods

Collect magnolia seed pods from fallen magnolia trees. Choose pods that are fully mature, dry, and have a nice shape.

Step 2: Clean the Pods

Gently clean the seed pods to remove any dirt or debris. You can use a soft brush or a damp cloth to clean them. Let them dry completely.

Step 3: Cut Floral Wire

Using wire cutters, cut several pieces of floral wire that are approximately 6-8 inches in length.

Step 4: Attach the Floral Wire

Insert one end of the floral wire into the center of the magnolia seed pod. Twist the wire around itself several times to secure it in place.

Step 5: Create a Loop

Bend the other end of the floral wire into a loop. This will be used to hang the ornament.

Step 6: Add Decorations (Optional)

If desired, you can add beads, sequins, or other small decorations to the seed pods. Use floral wire to attach the decorations.

Step 7: Tie the Ribbon

Cut a piece of ribbon approximately 12-18 inches in length. Tie the ribbon around the loop of the floral wire, creating a hanger for your ornament.

Step 8: Display Your Ornaments

Hang your handmade magnolia seed pod ornaments on a Christmas tree, wreath, or other display of your choice. Enjoy your beautiful and natural Christmas decor!
