How to Adjust Timed Rain Bird Sprinklers

Lawn sprinklers provide a convenient way to water your lawn without spending hours dragging around a garden hose. With the addition of a timer, you can set the sprinklers to operate during the night, when evaporation is at a minimum. Programmable timers let you set a watering schedule that works around your lifestyle, so the sprinklers will never surprise you while you're working or playing in the yard.

Instructions

  1. Programming Mode

    • 1

      Turn the dial on the sprinkler timer to "Preset Schedules."

      Press the up or down arrows to cycle through the available preset schedules.

      Press the circle button to choose a schedule to modify.

    Preset Program "C"

    • 4

      Set the control knob to "Custom Schedule--Days."

      Press the up or down arrows to activate watering for the displayed day.

      Press the right arrow button to scroll through the days.

    • 7

      Turn each day on or off, using the up and down arrows.

    Preset Program 1-5

    • 8

      Set the control to "Custom Schedule--Days."

    • 9

      Use the up or down arrow to select a watering interval from every-1 to every-7 days.

      Set the knob to "Custom Schedule--Starts."

      Press the right arrow to select one of three start times for the day.

    • 12

      Press the up or down arrow to select start times in increments of 15 minutes.

      Press the right arrow to select another start time for the day, if desired. Set up to three start times for a single day.

      Set the knob to "Custom Schedule--Duration." Use the up and down arrows to select the desired watering station.

      Press the right arrow to select the watering duration for that station. Adjust the watering duration for that station with the up and down arrows. Set the duration to zero to disable the selected station. Press the right arrow to select another station. Set the duration for each station.

    • 16

      Turn the knob to "Auto/Run" to begin using the custom adjustments.
