Mix 1 tbs. dishwashing liquid with 1/4 cup of salt and 1 quart vinegar in the spray bottle, using the measuring cups and measuring spoons. Spray mixture onto the weeds, thoroughly saturating the entire surface of the weed and the root as much as possible. Reapply the mixture the next day.
Mix 2 tbs. rubbing alcohol with 1 quart water and pour it into the spray bottle. Spray the mixture onto the weed, wetting down the weed as much as possible. Allow the mixture to work for a day; if not effective, add 2 tbs. additional rubbing alcohol to the mix.
Cut the weeds down to the root using the clippers. Place black plastic bags over the weed and hold the bags down with rocks or other heavy objects. Leave the bags in place for several days, and then check to see if the weed has died.
Turn on the weed flamer. Apply the flame to the entire surface of the weed, paying attention to the root. Repeat each day for a few days until the weed wilts and dies.
