Poulan 2095 Chainsaw Repair

The Poulan 2095 chainsaw will require extensive cleaning and repair work to keep it running at its optimum performance for many years. This work should be done at regular service intervals to prevent major problems. Regular repairs will also help the operator identify any damaged or broken parts. However, a professional should address all necessary repairs outside the competence of the operator, as incomplete or improper work can damage the engine.

Instructions

    • 1

Loosen and remove the bar nuts on the side of the chainsaw with a combination bar tool's wrench end. Take off the bar cover, bar and chain. Brush off the bar cover, the bar and the area around the clutch. Clean these parts with a rag, inspecting them for damage.

    • 2

Unscrew the cylinder cover on top of the 2095's engine using the screwdriver side of the bar tool. Lift the cover away and unscrew the air filter, removing it from its mount. Clean the cylinder cover, the fans around the cylinder and the area around the carburetor with a brush and rag.

    • 3

Wash the air filter pad in warm, soapy water. Rinse under cool water and let it dry thoroughly before reuse. Replace the filter if it's too dirty to clean or falling apart.

    • 4

Disconnect the rubber boot from the end of the spark plug. Unscrew the spark plug from the cylinder using the wrench side of the bar tool. Fit a replacement spark plug into the cylinder and reattach the boot.

    • 5

Unscrew the fuel container's cap. Tilt the chainsaw to its side and drain any unused fuel. Extend a metal hook into the fuel tank and lift out the fuel filter and attached fuel hose.

    • 6

Pull the fuel filter off the end of the fuel line. Refit the new fuel filter's nozzle into the end of the fuel hose. Set both back into the bottom of the tank. Reassemble all other parts in reverse sequence.
