# Potting Bench Decoration
The right decorations for a potting bench can change a work spot into a decor focal point. A potting bench is typically a functional piece used to assist a gardener in planting, transplanting and pruning potted plants. The bench allows the items to sit at the right height for the gardener to work without bending or stooping excessively. This bench also holds the basic tools used for gardening. Sand the potting bench to remove old paint or finish. Smooth out with hand sanding and wipe clean with a cloth

Paint or stain the bench. Select a finish based on the surrounding decor and personal taste. Allow to dry before proceeding.

Apply a stencil to selected areas. A stencil of a flower or other garden-related item is appropriate. Trace the stencil and fill in the picture with appropriate colors. Keeping the decoration flat on the bench allows for more work space.
