Lay out eight of the ¾-by-¾ inch pressure treated four-foot long boards horizontally on a flat surface. This is needed to create the horizontally positioned part of the partition lattice. Be sure to align the boards against the yardstick where they are six inches apart from one another and parallel to each other. Use the ruler and pencil to measure and mark 6-inch marks from one end to the other of each of the horizontally positioned boards. This is needed for positioning the vertically positioned part of the partition lattice.
Use the marks that you made with the pencil to position the remaining eight boards perpendicular to the original horizontal boards to create the vertical position part of the partition lattice.
Insert the screwdriver bit into the drill. Then use the drill with the screwdriver bit to drive a 1¼-inch galvanized wood screw into each point where the boards cross one another in the square grid.
Use the square to check the boards' positions to make sure that you are creating a square grid for the lattice after you drive a screw in at each crossing point. It is much easier to check this as you progress through the work than to have to go back and reposition things once the partition lattice is completed.
Flip the lattice work into a standing position. The partition lattice is now finished and can be positioned where the homeowner desires in the yard to create a garden partition.
