What Flowers Are Available in October?

Flowers bloom bright and vivid in the spring and summer months. But, as the summer turns to fall and the leaves on the trees start changing color, flowers are not seen as often. Still, there are plenty of flowers available in the cold October months for weddings, decorations or simply to add some color in the dull fall weather.
  1. Common Flowers

    • There is a long list of commonly known flowers available in October. Gerberas, also known as Gerber daisies, and tulips are available in a large variety of colors. These colors include white, yellow, pink and red. Marigolds and roses are two other commonly known flowers available in October, as they are often imported to florists year round.

    Anigozanthos

    • The Anigozanthos is an unusual flower available in the cooler months of the year. The flower is commonly available in yellow, a pale shade of pink, lime green and a richer red color. Although the colors are bold and bright, the flower has a softer side which is ideal for adding other textual flowers to it.

    Pink Curcuma

    • Another flower available in October is the Curcuma flower. The Curcuma flower is a bright pink flower that blooms on top of a bright green stem and large bright green, elongated leaves. The flower is a tall flower, as the petals stands straight up in the air and close around the center of the flower.

    Pink Echinacea

    • The Echinacea flower is available in the cooler fall months, although it looks like a bright spring flower. The Echinacea looks like a fresh daisy flower, but a memorable characteristic of the Echinacea is that the petals slope and bend backward.

    Dramatic Kniphofia

    • If you are looking for a dramatic fall flower to spice up the everyday, the Kniphofia is available in October. The flower is bright and bold, as it is a tall flower that has a bright red top and it fades to a bright yellow near the bottom. It has spikes that face downward.
