How to Make a Velcro Detachable Bed Skirt

A detachable bed skirt is a great way to add a touch of style and design to your bedroom. It is also a great way to make your bed easier to make.

This tutorial will show you how to make your own Velcro-detachable bed skirt.

What You'll Need:

- Fabric in the desired color and pattern for your bed skirt

- Velcro

- Scissors

-Sewing machine

- Thread

-Tape measure

-Zipper

Instructions:

1. Start by measuring the perimeter of your bed and the height from the floor to the top of the mattress. This will be the size of your bed skirt.

2. Cut two identical pieces of fabric; these will be the front and back of your bed skirt.

3. Take one piece of fabric and fold it in half lengthwise, right sides together.

4. Sew along one of the long edges and the short edges, using a 0.5-inch seam allowance. Leave the top edge open.

5. Repeat steps 3 and 4 with the other piece of fabric.

6. Turn both pieces of fabric right side out.

7. Lay one piece of fabric on top of the other and pin them in place.

8. Sew the long edges together to join the front and back skirts, using a 0.5-inch seam allowance.

9. Hem the top edge of the bed skirt by folding it inward by 1/2 inch and then again by 1 inch, and sewing in place.

10. To make the Velcro removable, cut two strips of Velcro long enough to go around the top of the bed skirt. Sew one strip of Velcro to the top of the bed skirt and the other strip to the box spring. When you want to remove the bed skirt, just pull the pieces apart.
