Desks With Hutches

• If you have limited space for your desk, but need lots of storage space, consider a desk with a hutch. These are small, rectangular desks with plenty of leg space underneath and shelving on the back of the desktop. The storage rises up rather than out, conserving wall and floor space. The hutches also come in many different styles with options for paper and CD storage, mail slots and different cabinet and drawer configurations. They also have ample space for most computer screens under the shelves.

Corner Desks

• To use empty space in the corner of a room, find an L-shaped or corner desk. These desks are shaped exactly the way they sound, with two flat tops at right angles. Corner desks have leg room under both flat tops and more drawer space than traditional desks. The drawers include small top drawers for office supplies and larger drawers equipped for hanging files. Some drawers even have compartments inside to aid organization. These give you room to spread out paper materials on one flat surface and work on your computer on the other. Some also come with hutches for more storage.

U-Shaped Desks

• If space is not an obstacle and you work from home, or simply like to spread out, find a U-shaped desk. They have three flat surfaces configured to surround the user on three sides. They have a multitude of drawers and shelves, with options that include cabinets under the flat tops. The cabinets often have shelves inside, giving you a large amount of space for document and electronics storage. Some styles also come with hutches for the ultimate home office.
