A suitcase with hard, flat sides works well as the base of a DIY nightstand table. The inside stores mementos or your to-be-read pile. An old suitcase gives your bedroom a vintage look, or choose something sleek and modern. Table legs come in many styles at home and lumber stores. Legs that are 14 inches in length work well for nightstands.
