Instructions for a DeWalt DW703

Unplug the saw to prevent accidental startup while making adjustments. Loosen the miter clamp knob. Pull up on the miter latch. Rotate the control arm to the left or to the right until the desired angle on the miter scale aligns with the pointer on the miter lock handle. Release the miter latch and tighten the miter clamp knob.

Loosen the bevel clamp knob, which is located at the back of the saw. Move the saw arm to the left until the pointer aligns with the desired angle on the bevel gauge, which is located at the back of the saw. Tighten the bevel lock clockwise until it is tight.

Mark a line on the wide side of the piece of lumber using a straight edge and a pencil. Position the lumber on the miter saw table with the wide side down and the narrow edge against the miter saw fence. Lower the blade to the lumber, prior to turning the saw on, by pulling down on the saw handle. Align the blade with the cut line on the lumber.

Plug the saw in. Hold the lumber in place with your left-hand while operating the saw handle with your right hand. Start the blade by pulling the trigger in the saw handle and allow it to reach top speed. Lower the blade, contacting the lumber on the pencil line and slowly move the blade through the lumber until the blade is through the piece of lumber.

Release the trigger and allow the blade to come to a complete stop before raising the blade from the lumber.
